We currently have a number of Consultant Psychiatrist positions across DVA diagnostic and liability assessments and Independent Medical Assessments for medico-legal cases.
About the role
This role is suitable for early career psychiatrists and includes mentoring and support
The Australia Centre For Trauma in Veterans (ACTIV) Team provide independent diagnostic and liability assessment reports to the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) for veterans who are experiencing significant mental health issues and distress, along with other vulnerabilities.
The Australasian Centre for Trauma (ACT) offers quality medico-legal assessments and capacity reports conducted by telehealth (zoom) Australia wide focusing on trauma and traumatic brain injuries.
The Consultant Psychiatrist with have access to a research assistant so there will be minimal administrative work in this role.
Opportunities for clinical involvement with treatment with immersive, trauma-informed residential programs designed to meet the diverse and evolving needs of Veterans and their families as well as others with traumatic brain injuries.
This may be done by telehealth or onsite using a hybrid model of care.
Teaching and Research opportunities may be available within this role
Competitive Salary - part time pro rata $AUD 500-600,000 plus superannuation. Contract work also available.
Position Profile: We are seeking part time and contractor Consultant Psychiatrists to assist with DVA diagnostic and liability assessments and medico-legal cases related to trauma and traumatic brain injuries.
Across these positions the Consultant Psychiatrist will conduct telehealth consultations with DVA or medico-legal patients and complete the subsequent reports with assistance from allocated research assistants.

The Successful Candidates will
Be eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia as a specialist in psychiatry.
Have Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists FRANZCP
Have clinical experience in general mental health, veteran mental health and/or neuropsychiatry

The Successful Candidates will
