Description
The Programming Service for Public Television has an immediate opening for a Program Director. The individual selected will have a passion for public television as well as 10 years’ experience in programming. This person will work with multiple client stations in the creation of their program schedule, including pledge.
This individual will also monitor ratings and DPM results and make recommendations for the client station’s promotional efforts. Each station has a customized program schedule and this individual will work closely with clients providing the highest level of customer service. We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled person with excellent communication skills who can work well independently and as part of a team to join our TPS team.
- In conjunction with the Executive Management Team of The Programming Service, provide programming services to client stations. To include:
- Build broadcast schedules for client stations, including, in some markets, additional multicast station schedules.
- Build pledge schedules for client stations during regularly scheduled pledge drives and at other times as requested by the client station.
- Provide analysis, ratings reports and Executive Summaries to the General Manager of the client station as needed.
- Monitor MyPBS, The Source, The Hub and other pertinent websites for information that would affect the client station.
- Network with various organizations and individuals throughout the system, in order to provide the most pertinent and timely information to our clients.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the client station through phone conferencing, “check-up” calls, and daily monitoring of the station activities and local market news.
- Daily calls to the client station during pledge periods, to ascertain the effectiveness of the pledge schedule, obtain nightly totals, and provide any readjustments to the pledge schedule that may be needed.
- Provide a promotional schedule to the client stations.
- Recommend individual station acquisitions to strengthen a client stations schedule.
- Conference monthly via ZOOM (or any emerging technology) with the client station to review their monthly programming schedule, including presentation of highlight clips and any other station reporting available.
- Knowledge of DOMO for non-linear station reporting.
