Position Overview
The Phone Intake Therapist creates a smooth and expeditious path for clients seeking eating disorder treatment at The Emily Program. The therapist is responsible for conducting phone-based eating disorder assessments, determining clinically appropriate level of care, garnering necessary psychiatric and clinical information and coordinating with Admissions Coordinators to ensure successful admission of clients to higher level of care (HLOC) programs and outpatient treatment within Accanto Health. The therapist plays a critical role in helping clients and families recognize the need for and urgency around starting treatment and utilizes motivational interviewing to encourage clients to move forward with the recommended level of care. The therapist is also responsible for ensuring a strong relationship between Accanto Health and referring providers.
Schedule
Full Time (40 hours per week)
Two schedule options available Monday-Friday (11 am-7 pm CST)
Tuesday- Saturday (9 am-5 pm CST)
How Phone Intake Therapists Empower Recovery
Conduct approximately 20 phone-based eating disorder assessments each week with clients, families and/or providers seeking eating disorder treatment.
Apply eating disorder specific clinical criteria and referral guidelines to recommend the appropriate level of care based on the use of Accanto Health’s Admission Level of Care Criteria and clinical standards.
Use motivational interviewing techniques when working with individuals clinically appropriate for services and help to problem solve psychosocial and other barriers to accessing treatment.
Coordinate and collect clinical referral information by means of medical records requests and verbal communication with external providers.
Collaborate with internal teams, such as Admissions Coordinators, Admissions Specialists, and Site & Executive Directors to support an efficient and positive client experience throughout the admissions process.
Consistently share overview of Accanto programming for recommended level of care and network status information, route clients to appropriate locations based on recommendation, availability of programming, and insurance coverage.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Discipline (i.e., Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology)
Active provisional licensure (such as LCSW, LMFT, or LPC) required
Active full licensure (such as LCSW, LMFT, or LPC) strongly preferred
Minimum of 1-year care coordination/case management or mental health assessment experience
Eating Disorder experience preferred
