October 2025
A. Background
SAT-7 USA seeks grant writing support for its Development team, initially during a period of increased activity to maximize a list of new foundation prospects. There is potential for contract extension primarily to support maintenance of ongoing relationships and key new opportunities. The consultant will work independently to draft, edit, and prepare letters of inquiry, proposals, applications, cover letters, and reports for institutional and private funders.
B. Objectives
The goal of this engagement is to provide professional grant writing support to free up capacity among SAT-7’s senior Development staff, and to maximize the opportunities available through prospecting that has already been completed. Ultimately, the goal will be to win additional grant funding for SAT-7’s mission.
C. Deliverables
Prepare one complex report and one complex application for an existing staffed foundation partner, with submission deadlines of 12/31, including uploading to the partner’s portal.
Prepare a second, simpler report and proposals for the same project.
Prepare at least 20 letters of inquiry or proposals for new family foundation prospects from a defined list, to be sent in January.
D. Timeline
The desired start date for the contract is 12/1/2025. The contract period runs until 12/31/2025, from the date of signing, with an estimated30 hours per week depending on workload. Specific deliverables and deadlines will be mutually agreed in writing. There is potential for the contract to be extended long-term into 2026 at a lower number of weekly hours (5-10).
E. Compensation
Consultant will invoice weekly at a rate of $50 per hour, not to exceed $6,000 in total during the initial contract period.
F. Relationship and Independence Clause
The consultant will perform services as an independent contractor and not as an employee of SAT-7 USA. The consultant is responsible for determining how and when to perform the work, for paying all applicable taxes, and for providing their own equipment and workspace.
