Job Description:
The Mario J. Gabelli School of Business at Roger Williams University, Bristol RI, invites applications for a tenure-track position in marketing at an Open rank level beginning Fall 2026. Responsibilities include teaching advertising, marketing communications, and sports marketing at various course levels. Candidate is also expected to develop a productive research agenda that contributes to the field of marketing.
The ideal candidate would also have prior experience with the American Advertising Federation's annual collegiate National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) or be willing to lead the RWU student AAF chapter and teach the NSAC case for the district level competition which includes research and advertising campaign development across multiple media formats. An additional interest in the area of Sports Marketing is a plus. The individual hired will be expected to provide excellence in teaching, advise students, and maintain a high level of professional activity through quality research and service.
Requirements:
Candidates should have an established record or demonstrate strong potential for high quality, innovative teaching and research, including publishing appropriate, quality peer-reviewed journals. Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in business administration from an AACSB accredited institution, with a specialization or industry experience in advertising, marketing, media planning or another highly relevant field of study. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the doctoral degree must be in hand by the time the appointment begins, which is August of 2026. Business experience is a plus.
At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
